What Can I Do With The Google Admin Console?

 You can do all sorts of things with the Google Admin Console. Here is a modest selection:

  • Look at logs the device gathers
  • Update device information
  • Disable Incognito mode
  • Disable password manager
  • Set Homepage as school website
  • Modify lock screen on idle
  • Auto reboot for OS Install
  • See who has logged in
  • Whitelist / blacklist websites
  • Whitelist / blacklist Chrome apps
  • Push Chrome Web Store apps
  • Check Chrome OS version
  • Disable Guest Mode
  • “Brick” them if they are stolen
  • Disable Smartlock

Device Enrollment Bug, Chrome OS 112+

There is a known user interface bug during the enrollment process on Chromebooks running Chrome OS 112+ which makes the device appear to be indefinitely stuck at the enrollment screen. After performing a powerwash, the device will begin the automatic re-enrollment process, as expected. Within ~30 seconds, the device will complete enrollment and display "Enterprise enrollment complete". However, the enrollment confirmation screen only appears for about 1 second; and is immediately replaced by the previous device enrollment screen which will persist indefinitely until the user presses the Esc key.
